Surprisingly, no. They're one of the few "emo" bands that I actually like. I was a fan a long time ago, now, I couldn't call myself one - their more upbeat songs annoy me, but I still listen to their slower ones like Ghost Man on Third. Admittedly, I think they sound terrible live, but their studio albums are quite good, I think.

Yeah, I agree with you on that one....
However, I actually wouldn't use the term "suck" which isn't a valid adjective for the music they make. I guess you would call it "melancholy caterwauling" or something similar. The vocals are rather horrendous, and the melodies are totally out of sync.

anyway, all so called EMO <pseudo, or artifical punks> bands are T R E N D S for kids to make $$$ for those Music labels. plain and simple. Music labels make $$4 from kids actually from their poor parents, because even middle class parents are suffering NOW
Live they're not too shabby. As people they're amazing. But I haven't liked them since Tell All Your Friends.
But most of their singles are real catchy. they just tend to get annoying quickly.
