"Too many chiefs and not enough Indians":

1:Certain rappers with garbage lyrics drop albums with catchy beats.
2:One song on the whole album gets 1,549,678 radio plays daily.
3:Everybody and their Momma support this fake cause he/she is the talk of the town.
4:This rapper makes more money than the law allow.
5:This rapper takes said money, gets own label, get other fakes under the label.
6:Mc Fake drops an album with garbage lyrics, catchy beats, makes money, gets label....
Repeat

At the end of the day it's all about a dollar to most of these cats not the art form.

its easy to get in the rap busness.
anything catchy ,people will buy records
e.g.Soulja boy

I think record companies are giving contracts to anyone just to make a buck and calling it "hip hop"!!!!

They are NOT listening to what ppl are saying or they just plain do not know what hip hop is!!!

Some of this music esp mainstream radio stuff is NOT what I consider hip hop!!! Is just POP MUSIC! Which sucks!!! IMO!

I agree. Rappers with real talent are getting no credit at all, when all the one hit wonders like MIMS or Hurricane Chris are getting all the attention and support.

SUPPORT REAL HIP-HOP!

biggest problem(s) in hip hop today

1.)Limewire
2.)sheep-like mentality of some fans who just follow whats hot, or cant judge for themselves
3.)fans claiming "hip hop is dead" or "dying", on life support..etc.
4.)fans who think someone isnt "hip hop" because they dont touch upon the same subjects as their favorite rapper(s)

if anything is wrong wit hip hop, its the fans....we support the artists and the music we like

well, yah, the pop rap stuff. i mean, i'm 14 right and well, i listen to the radio like er day and stuff and itz nice to hear some fun lil crunk song that probably make no sense or whateva. but it is like, wow, if soulja boy can do it so can i. hell, i can make a rap song probably rite now about yahoo answers or whateva. but my bro is 21 n he grew up with the 80s and 90s and sometimes i miss the old hip hop he listens too. as of right now, i don't really kno about any underground artists right now but i know that lupe fiasco is good and he should come on the radio and bring hip hop forward.

I think they sell an image and the youth buy into this image. The image is all black people must be "gangstas", be derogatory to women, hate white people, have ramdom sex with hispacnic girls, have white girlfriends, and commit crimes. i.e. 50cent

Or they have a catchy tune and a gimmick dance that goes along with the beat, but no meaning in the lyrics. i.e. Soulja Boy

Good hip-hop is dying. : (

i agree hip hop is fading....nukkas nowadays just wanna talk bout killin nukkas and effin chycks...hip hop is more than that. i appreciate commons music because he is dimensional...kanye is another he raps with meaning...dip set doesnt jay z he was one of my favorite rappers but hes fallin off lil by little. i believe that bringing hip hop back is the old school rappers job. the youngns dont really know what is is no more. they believe that its shootin gettin chycks and stayin fly..ppl like russel simmons..his brother slick rick those type of dudes need to start schoolin dudes that are comin on to the game..and the record labels need to start signing real artist...however as long as there is money and greed around that will never happen. u and me can i dream

Although I'm not really into 50cent, he said it himself in an interview here in Houston. Its all these ringtone rappers. You have all these A&R people signing artists that basically have nothing to say.

Now, I admit I do like some music to get me dancing. But I am not feeling anything that is coming out of Atlanta or even Lousiana or wherever these damn folks are from. Like Hurricane Chris or Soulja Boy. Blah!

Its basically the people supporting this music though, majority rules. And you should know first hand, most of these artists that are major now, originally began as underground. But once you hit that marker of platinum records...then your suddenly bubblegum hip hop because everybody loves it.

And like mentioned above.......its the people buying the ringtones, albums, etc. Whoever supports the products per say.

**** NOW A DAYS YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO BE AN ACTUAL RAPPER YOU CAN JUST BE CUTE AND MARKETABLE AND THAT WILL BE THE NEW "IT" RAPPER COME ON OR EITHER MAKE A DANCE SONG NOBODY REALLY WANTS TO HEAR REAL MUSIC ANY MORE

i totally agree i mean no one raps with meaning anymore the songs dont mean anything at all like lipgloss or a bay bay or superman i mean what happened to eminem his song kinda meant something and so did ludacris i mean the songs theses days suck thats why all the songs on my ipod are from like 1995-2004 and some new songs

money!!!! money is fuckin the game up!!!! its not about passion no more its about money
