Which memorable band have you passed up seeing live, only to find out that "!

Question: I don't mean to open old wounds, but what bands and how long ago?

Answers: I don't mean to open old wounds, but what bands and how long ago?

Johnny Cash :(

3 days grace.
it was a free ticket too.
i wasn't into them back then.
but hey, i may get that offer again.(kidding.)

I ALMOST had to say The Police, but *thankfully* they decided to finally reunite & tour this year.

It's OK, Master C.

*sniff*

Jawbox
Velocity Girl

I'm sure there are more. These were quite some time ago...back in the 90's.

I'm over it, though. Really.

*wiping tears away*

Edit: awww...I'm sorry, Nancy! :(

I'm going to have to say Pearl Jam cause I don't think they'll ever play in my area again. They say they don't get enough props in the South but I beg to differ!! I hope I get my chance sooner or later!

Rage Against The Machine- They broke up in 2000 but reunited again this year I will definitely catch them when they come to my area.

FUGAZI! I'm so mad. I got into them just a little too late and they played in a small venue in Ventura, CA. Grrr.

I did at least get to see Ian McKaye do a Q&A session at Coachella and we showed up for the last 2 or so songs by the Evens (it took forever to get into the polo grounds). The Q&A was really interesting. Just hearing the stories about him being a young punk when being a punk wasn't hip (the story that stuck was his first trip to L.A. and when him and his friend weren't allowed into Disneyland because they looked like "punks." I'd love to see something like that again. The Evens were pretty awesome too, what little I saw. So there's a little consolation, and who knows, they haven't officially retired yet, and you get rumours every now and again. Looks like a permanent hiatus though.

Toad The Wet Sprocket

I passed up seeing Bring Me The Horizon this year. I doubt they will come to my area again, seeing how its not a real big city and they are from the UK.

Nirvana. I had a chance to see them in Oakland Ca in 1993.
Went to a Party instead. One of my biggest mistakes.

Well I was fortunate enough to see The Offspring when Ron Welty was still in the band in 2000 (I was in the 6th grade, it was my first concert), and I saw Korn in one of their last American tours with all 5 original members. As for any missed opportunities, I can't think of any, I mean, I wish I had had the chance to see original Guns N' Roses as a baby, that would've been sweet, but nothing reasonable that I could've gone to that I don't have the oppotunity to see again (hopefully). Oh yeah and I saw RATM play a few months ago so I crossed them off my list, and I saw Audioslave as well.

Jeff Buckley..........sniff
Alice In Chains

Silverstein--instead I went trick and treating with couple of friends..it was alright but I bet the Silverstein show would have been better. Also Chiodos...the boy was going to pay for my ticket too but I would have felt weird about that the whole night

I agree with whoever said Rage Against the Machine. My art teacher got me into them, and by the time I wanted to see them, they were broken up. But luckily, Chris Cornell and Zach de la Rocha came to their senses and went to their rightful places.

my chemical romance. it wasnt my choice to not see them though. they don't normally come to detroit. =(

QUEEN
I could have seen them in 82 but decided not to go. Then they stopped touring the US altogether. Then the incredibly talented FREDDIE MERCURY died in 91.
I did see QUEEN & PR in 06, but it just wasn't the same without FREDDIE!

Its happened to me twice, once it was 2pac, I had to go to a wedding that day plus they said he was coming back in 3 months, 2 weeks later he's dead

Second one was rage against the machine, I had tickets but neede an emergency appendectomy, several months later they broke up, on my birthday!! Hopefully I can get some tickets later on

Snot,I've seen them twice but the third time was a month before the lead singer died, awesome band and the dude was cool as hell--Lynn Strait R.I.P--

My Bloody Valentine opening for Dinosaur Jr. I've seen J Mascis play 7 times in one form or another, but I absolutely rue the fact that I never got the chance to see MBV. If I only could have come up with the bucks a few days earlier when tickets were not sold out........

How long ago? It was the Green Mind tour so that would have been about '92 or so.......

Thankfully this has never happened! And it is the excuse I give my parents everytime. Works too.

Soundgarden, I didn't pass them up they passed me!
I had tickets for what would have been their last concert together but they cancelled it like 2 days before the show!
I should have kept the tickets but returned them for a refund.
They never played together after that.
Everytime I think of it I get pissed on how close I was to seeing them.

Thank god I did see my favorite band and Freddie in 1986, at Wembley. I really can't ask for more!!
