Every musical style becomes more and more washed out as it becomes more popular. Just as whiner bands consider themselves punk or metal. As a band will call themselves experimental simply because they use an effects pedal.

You picked a lot of crap when you could have been citing Black Flag, Bad Brains and Minor Threat... now THOSE bands can be dubbed as hardcore.
Hardcore has it's good points aggression, speed, intensity but in all honesty it's a dead formula. I can see why bands change there sound after awhile and mature because there are only so many hardcore songs you can write before you sound the same. I'm by no means bashing hardcore as I grew up on it and love it.
