What are some of your favorite, lesser known metal bands?!

Question: Please don't put in popular bands such as Metallica, Slayer, etc. I'm looking for some new bands to listen to that are not as well known.

I don'tknow what you consider lesser known, but Avenged Sevenfold, Shadows Fall, Bullet for My Valentine, and Killswitch Engage are pretty kick ***.

I agree with Jarod... those bands are pretty amazing, and they aren't as "popular" as Metallica, I guess. I especially reccomend Avenged Sevenfold.

The Plasmatics!

SABATON!!

Through the gates of Hell....

Trivium, As I lay dying, Nevermore and Sevendust are just a few good bands that aren't mainstream.

Krokus Badlands Zebra Sun Red Sun King's X China Rain
Flotsam & Jetsam Budgie UFO MSG Hawkwind Montrose

There, a whole slew of totally obscure yet awesome Metal Bands

From the Shallows
Blessed By A Broken Heart
Beneath the Sky
The Chariot
From A Second Story Window
Heavy Heavy Low Low

Edit: Why are people saying that Avenged Sevenfold aren't that well known?? They've been on the radio and MTV!!
