About guitarists, Joe Satriani, Carlos Santana, or Eric Clapton?!

Question: The list could be longer, but, I'm trying to keep it manageable!

Answers: The list could be longer, but, I'm trying to keep it manageable!

Joe Satriani has the best technique and Eric plays the Blues Better than anyone i can remember except for maybe Jimi Hendrix.

Eric Clapton really plays guitar extremely well all they way from the 'cream 'days up to his acoustic solos plus he is also a great songwriter as well.

Carlos Santana: His guitar playing is more lyrical than the others; and he was influenced by another great guitarist, Peter Green.

Eric really rocks and plays the blues backwards,Joe and Carlos are also very good.

Of that list, I have to go with Carlos, not as best, because they each have different styles, but the one I enjoy listening to in a variety of genres. Not on the list but deserving mention are Eric Johnson, Jeff Beck and Eddie Van Halen

Hey CaM, hows it goin'? Yea the list could of been a LOT LONGER!!! And the choice would have been just as hard to decide.Santana and Clapton, that's like comparing plums and pears. Each has a unique sound and rhythm. Each has been around long enough that everyone from Grandma / grandpa along with grandchildren have enjoyed their music. To make a choice I would hae to flip a coin, so hold on while I flip it(silver dollar dated 1965, a REAL SILVER DOLLAR) you call it alphabetically or by age . It came up tails

Tough choice. 3 different styles. So I guess the style I prefer is Clapton. I've been a fan since.......forever it seems. I've listened to a lot of his music and recently purchased 6 DVDs of his. Some from the days of Cream. IMO he is better today than he has ever been. Get his 2001 CD/DVD combo "One More Car One More Rider". That is by far the best concert I have ever been to. Clapton, Fairweather Lowe, East, Gadd, Preston, and Sancious. All at the very top of their game. Watch and then tell em who's #1.

Clapton. His playing is so deliberate, and crisp. Santana's innovation probably puts him in second, but, i'm going to pick Clapton for #1.

Wow! great choices for guitar masters! All of them are amazing guitarists who have given us some great music through the years. My favorite guitarist of the 3 is Eric Clapton... from "Blind Faith," "The Yardbirds," "Cream" and "Derek and the Domino's" just to name a few. I think I like his bluesy rock style. Think of how his guitar sounds on "Layla" and "Sunshine Of Your Love." And he's really affected so many guitarists style. And not only that, but he has his drug rehab center called "Crossroads" (cool name, yes???) on the island of Antigua. He's auctioned off some his most historical guitars for the publicity and the money for his rehab programs. He's making such a difference. What an artist... what a guy!!! ? ?? ??

all good. different styles. joe satriani's awesome. in the likes of michael angelo of nitro. if you like joe you'll love this guy..

eric clapton (slow hand) makes a guitar sing doesnt he..i would also put david gilmour in this category (pink floyd)

carlos santana, what else needs to be said of him. he's brilliant. ijust wish hed do his own stuff instead of asking someone to front (sing) on his music..

there are so many good guitar players, to long a list to mention

Eric Clapton has done more for music and people like me (recovering alcoholic/addict) than any single person alive.
