I first heard them when they opened for Nightwish years ago and since then have followed them (with Darren's help). They're great muso's.

Vanishing Point was an old movie (1971) starring Barry Newman as Kowalski, the hero of the story, who works for a car delivery service. He takes delivery of a 1970 Dodge Challenger to take from Colorado to Frisco, California. Shortly after pickup, he takes a bet to get the car there in less than 15 hours. After a few run-ins with motorcycle cops and highway patrol they start a chase to bring him into custody. Along the way, Kowalski is guided by Supersoul - a blind DJ with a police radio scanner. Throw in lots of chase scenes, gay hitchhikers, a naked woman riding a motorbike, lots of Mopar and you've got a great cult hit from the early 70's.

Vanishing Point is an Australian power/progressive metal band from Melbourne. The band has released three albums and as of 2007 was in the process of completing a fourth.
The band formed in the mid 1990s with the line-up of vocalist Silvio Massaro, keyboards player Pep Sammartino, guitarists Chris Porcianko and Tom Vucur, drummer Jack Lukic and bassist Joe Del Mastro, with the last four drawn from an earlier band called Eye. Concentrating their efforts on songwriting and recording, the group's first album In Thought was recorded in 1996 and released in Europe by German label Angular Records in 1997. The following year it was issued in Australia by Melbourne label Metal Warriors.
