Answers: That Good Ol' boy from Sabinal Tx. Johnny Rodriguez? He hit the streets running in the 70's with "Pass me by" and then he all of a sudden just faded out. He had some very good songs i,m just wondering why his career never really got going. Any Ideas?

Johnny was in fact found not guilty in the shooting death of another man in Texas. He also had other personal problems that derailed him.Johnny is still touring on a regular basis. He has had some health problems in the last few years but has overcome all of them and he is back in fine form. Johnny did a great job back in the late 70's and early 80's with songs like "Pass Me By", "Foolin" which is one of my favorites as well as "Ridin' My Thumb To Mexico", You Always Come Back To Hurting Me" and several others. He is still grinding out the performances but no chart material. Maybe it's because Tom T. Hall has slowed down on his writing and Johnny has no material or maybe it's the new age so-called country that has taken over and he doesn't fit that mold.

Johnny Rodriguez is an awesome singer-he had some trouble with the law-but was found not guilty,so hopefully he will start singing again..
