Jazz standards you can rock to!! Happier interpretations of the ballad with som!

Question:

Jazz standards you can rock to!! Happier interpretations of the ballad with some latin twang?

Hi! I'm studying the song Autumn Leaves and surprisingly love it because my teacher put a bit of beat into the song... so instead of the usual sentimental ballad there's a bit of that latin-soul-bossa novaish flavour. I've heard a few version of Autumn Leaves... Diana Krall, Eva Cassidy, Cassandra Wilson... I don't like any of them. Which version should I look into that interprets the song a bit more lightheartedly, with some beat I can rock to? Thanks a bunch!

Answers:

Sarah Vaughn does a scat version of Autumn Leaves on her Crazy and Mixed Up album. Fast and rockin'
Another scat interpretation Anne Farnsworth on Saturday Morning album.

More conventional but uptempo, Diane Schuur on her Swingin' for Schuur.

For Latin....no vocals Francisco Aguabella on the Cubacan album.

Toxic Audio on Chemistry album interesting percussive vocals.

Fast straight ahead trumpet, Wynton Marsalis, Marsalis Standard Time 1.

Happy listening

Good luck.
