Does anyone know about DJ Tiesto? My 18 yr old son wants to go to his techno concert from 11pm - 4 am in NYC.
I am concerned as he has never been to concert in NYC (33rd & 8th Ave). I think it is a type of "rave" concert. Any thoughts?

Tiesto is pretty mainstream and clean-cut. At ANY concert, there's always the possibility of a few bad folks in the crowd doing drugs...usually surrepticiously. I've even seen it at jazz concerts for goodness sake!
But I think a concert for Tiesto would be one of the safest out there. European DJ's are very concious of their image. Since Trance Music is more mainstream there than it is here, they try to be seen as "clean" as possible.
Just be glad your son isn't into heavy metal or rap!! THEN you'd definitely have a good reason to worry.
