simple question

I think most people are not very into music, and they don't really have an ear for it. So they like very simple, bland tunes. I think, to them, certain chord progessions and vocals always sound new and unusual. While to you or I, they sound dull and predictable because we have an ear for music. So it makes us want to tear our hair out.
Don't get me wrong. I don't think all mainstream is bad. I just think it should be your desert, not your main course.
