Would a more expensive firewire cable make a difference for audio?!

Question:

Would a more expensive firewire cable make a difference for audio?

i am considering upgrading my firewire cable to a monster since i do audio. i use monster cables for analog connections but i was told that a better and expensive firewire cable wouldn't make a difference in audio quality since it's a digital signal.

i'm connecting a digi 002 rack to my pc and right now i have a stock 6 pin cable with a 4 pin adapter. would upgrading my firewire cable make any difference in terms of audio quality? or is it just data, in which case there'd be no difference to the sound?

Answers:

Zeroes and Ones, Mitch.
That's all it is.

Firewire is the stream by which information goes from source to destination, and (next to Optical) is about as fast as you can get, transfer-wise.
Analogy:
Parallel/SCSI was the old standard...
USB came along and blew that away.
Firewire is USB on steroids.
As long as it's Firewire, you're alright.

Monster is overrated and WAY overpriced, IN MY OPINION.
Unless you are dealing with a delicate and critical signal to noise ratio situation, Go with what you have.

Hope it helps!
