Do you know any good movies/TV shows that can help me with research on my next w!

Question: Do you know any good movies/TV shows that can help me with research on my next writing project!?
Hiya!. I'm planning to write a novel revolving around the renaissance time period/ maybe a little later on!. I'm still trying to decide whether it'll be a victorian set novel or a renaissance one!.!.!.
So if you know any good movies/ TV shows set in either one of those time period I'd be ever so thankful if you could let me know!.
THANKS A MILLION!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would not trust movies or TV series if you are going to write something serious!. Most movies and series are poorly researched!. The other poster suggests "Marie Antoinette" with Kirsten Dunst!. That is horribly inaccurate! Even an earlier attempt at it, "Marie Antoinette" (1938), plays havoc with much of the history!.

So, if you are serious in your intent to write period/historical fiction, read books and other material about whichever era you choose!. If you want it to be believable, do not rely on movies for your inspiration, as the results might be not at all what you want!. People might laugh at the misinterpretation!. People who write period novels almost always have studied extensively everything about the particular period they wish to recreate!. You must know clothing, speech patterns, and so much more to bring the past to life!. Otherwise, you'll end up with the typical filmmakers' version of history!. Occasionally, some do a better job than others, but those works are very rare!.

Do not depend on movies and especially TV shows!.

EDIT: By the way, "Marie Antoinette" is neither Renaissance nor Victorian!. "The Other Boleyn Girl" is a very poor portrayal of the English Renaissance, which is what I suppose you would choose!. "Anne of the Thousand Days" is somewhat better!. Most movies about Queen Elizabeth I are not very good and certainly not reliable for reference!.

As for the Victorian era, you might have a little more luck there, as it's comparatively recent~at least when choosing between the Renaissance and Victorian eras!.

Read about these periods in history!. The knowledge you gain will be so much more reliable!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
