Question: Why dose Carlisle & Esme go on 3 day hunting trips!?
in the second book Alice goes back to Bella's house and then steps out for 1 hour and goes hunting and comes back quick!. but why dose it take

They stay around humans for LONG periods of time without being able to hunt!. Alice wants to be with Bella as much as possible and is worried about what could happen if she is gone too long!.
Alice lives in the future so she may not know what Bella is thinking, but she knows what Bella's decisions will be based on what she is thinking!. Because of this, Alice doesn't trust being away from Bella for long periods of time!.
Carlisle and Esme on the other hand do not have that to worry about so they filled themselves up so that they would not have to go for a while!.
Think about in the beginning of Twilight when the whole family was gone the whole time the sun was shining!. If you also read Midnight Sun, it says that Edward filled himself up so he could maybe not be so hungry when he gets near Bella!. (I didn't work!.!.!.)
