I think the remake of Cape Fear(starring DeNiro as Max Cady) was better than the original version(starring Robert Mitchum as Cady). I also preferred the 2005 remake of The Producers, although the original was very good. I liked Matthew Broderick better in teh role of Leo Bloom than Gene Wilder, and Nathan Lane was incredible. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street was much better than its predecessors, and finally I liked Spielbergs War of the Worlds much better than the 1953 version directed by Byron Haskins.

I heard Ocean's Eleven (2001) is better than Ocean's Eleven (1960), I've never watched both though.
