He said. "You are going to shoot me!" Now if they shoot him his statement would be true and they should have hung him! If they hang him then his statement is false and he should have been shot! So they released him!!!

He didn't say anything. He just stared off from outer space(daydreaming) and the court got bored and tired of waiting. So there you go, they decided to release him.
