I loved it. It was just wonderful and sad at the same time. The storyline was great. The way they pointed out what it was like during that time was truly something. Its one of my favorite movies and I think should be watched by all.
I love that movie! It is very unique, very touching too. Not too many movies (especially animated. D:) are brave enough to end like this one did.
I think it is the best feature length animated movie ever made, in any country. I haven't been able to find an English translation of the novel upon which the film is based, but I have the impression the anime is very faithful to the novel, which is based on the author's actualy experiences as an older child. I know the live action film version of the story is not nearly as compelling (there are also very minor differences in the plot), and it is highly unusual for an animated version of a film to be much better than a live action feature.
"Grave of the Fireflies" proves that anime can be as effective a means of telling stories as any other style of cinema. "Grave of the Fireflies" is not just a good film, it will eventually rank beside the very best movies ever made.
umm i havent seen it cuz i dont watch anime much. but it sounds good cuz i like learning about peoples lives in the world wars.
