I think he ruined his "career" when he was rude to a bunch of kids he was to entertain at there school. He said he worked with handicap children before entering Idol. I hope he didn't take advantage of them or hurt them. He is a huge jerk who can't admit he is gay.
I've heard that he has kind of a reputation for being a bit of a "diva" and being less than kind to his fans. I think he had some sort of incident where he was really rude to a woman on an airplane too. Sounds like he got a bit full of himself and people had enough of him. I'm sure his appearance on Live With Regis and Kelly added to that.
I hope so. He needs to get over himself!

Clay Aiken appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" three times: 18 Nov 04, 24 Mar 05, and 17 Nov 06. He recently appeared on "The View" as well as other talk shows and is currently on Broadway in the musical "Spamalot" until early March.
I do not think his career has really suffered from his alleged rudeness to others. I do believe he is still trying to deal with celebrity and that can be very difficult.

I really like Kelly Ripa and Clay Aiken.. I watched the show that you are talking about... I think it was both of them playing around.. and being funny... I don't think he meant anything by putting his hand over her face.. The media has a tendency to overeact and to make the story much bigger than it really is.. I don't understand why so many people have a problem with Clay Aiken because this guy can sing.. This has not and will not hurt his career... In fact he is just getting started...
