Why is Jerry Seinfeld so overated?!

Question: Why is Jerry Seinfeld so overated!?
To be honest, he is not even funny, I saw a few episodes of seinfeld once and I didn't laugh once!.

What makes me wonder is why he got paid so much for a show that wasn't even that good!. He was apparently offered $110 for an entire next season when his show ended!.

He has done nothing since, except a few lousy stand up routines and somehow still makes so much, although a lot of it is through syndication rights from his show, seinfeld!. He also got paid $10 for that Microsoft Advert and that was so crap, I literally wanted to hurt Jerry seinfeld!.

So the question is, why do people like him so much!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I've been trying to figure this out myself!.
I've never found him funny, and his show was stupid!. "It's a show about nothing"!. They basically admitted their show sucked!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Jerry Seinfeld was a smash hit in the US because his comedy was based on day to day stuff!. The crazy stuff they do and get away with, provide comic relief to the every day Joe and Jane American!.

Now, why he got sooooo much per episode I really don't see it!. All I know is the value of anything is what someone (or some corporation) is willing to pay and he must have made an absolute fortune for the TV company!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No , Jerry Seinfeld is not funny at all! I never thought so!. If I watch the show at all, kramer & George sometimes gives me a smile!.
Maybe in his show he subconsciously brainwashes people into believing he is funny!. Plus you never know, maybe this guy who is offering him so much money owes him a favor or something!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Seinfeld was a hit in the late 90's in the US! He's comedy and stand up are different than most the other comedians!. also, if you are younger than 30 probably you won't like it!.!.!.
Times were different my friend as well!.
About the money: it's based not on him, but the impact he brings to show and the show itself!.
Got it!?!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't understand it either, his show has no basic sense, it's lame and stupid!.
I hate that little music they use at the beginning and in between!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Seinfeld show was a flop until season 4 when everyone kind of woke up to it!. In my experience, this is exactly how it works with individuals as well!. They see a few episodes and can't see what the fuss is about but if they stick with it, they end up loving it!. I think you need to get to know the characters and there's a lot of backwards references to previous episodes that will go over your head if you haven't seen it from the start!. To be honest, the first two seasons were very slow but from The Pen onwards, it just got better and better!. I think Jerry Seinfeld as a person is so loved because he's so easy going and has a child like quality about him!. He doesn't seem to take anything too seriously and just comes across as a warm person!. People take to thatWww@Enter-QA@Com

Seinfeld may not make you laugh, but that's a very different proposition from then concluding that because he doesn't make you laugh he isn't funny!. Tens of thousands of Americans enjoyed Jerry's stand up routine for years, and millions more loved his tv show, because he made them observe and laugh!.

You don't say that Seinfeld's writing was objectionable or the comic premise untenable or the acting unbearable!. And the way you harp on how much Seinfeld earned from his tv show (and from the Microsoft commercial) would seem to indicate a chip on your shoulder so large that Seinfeld could never dislodge it without a chainsaw and a pickaxe!.

Comedy is not objective!. There is no comedy math class where two plus two equals four, and that's because four is not a funny result!. Different comedians will come up with wildly different answers for the question "What is the sum of two plus two!." You can either appreciate how they come to their answer and laugh, or not!.

If you sit down at a live show or in front of the television set and you are determined for whatever reason not to open your mind to the comedian's material and presentation, then you do yourself and the comedian a disservice!. If you do so with an open mind and still find that what he or she is offering doesn't make you laugh, then that's fine so long as you appreciate the considerable effort that he or she is making to entertain you!. No genuine comedian is ever going to ask for anything more than a fair shake from his or her audience least of all Seinfeld!.

Why do I like Seinfeld as a comedian!? Because he's a sharply observant guy who develops his observations into interesting/awkward questions and from that point develops interesting/awkward answers that make you smile and/or laugh!.

Why did I like "Seinfeld" the tv show!? Because he was the relative center of calm in a universe of self-absorbed and eccentric characters trying with little success to make a transition from that little snow globe of an apartment (I once suggested making comedy snow globes and XMas tree ornaments and got laughed at by a bunch of MBA snobs who couldn't even wipe their own a s s e s, just in case you want to compare the chip on my shoulder with yours) into the outside world!. But they had neither the skills nor the inclination to make that transisition because there wasn't any funny on the other side!.

The grass was greener on the other side, of course, but it needed to be watered and fertilized and mowed and guarded from trespassers and in the end the characters would decide it was less interesting and challenging than the disorganized lives that they were leading!. I liked the show because the writing and the acting made me laugh and because they never capitulated!.

I hope that there are one or more comedians that you find outrageously funny!. I hope they earn great respect as stand up comedians and that they get the chance like Seinfeld to put on a tv show that makes people laugh and puts some decent money in their pockets!.

To be honest, I think you need to lighten up and find someone whom you can praise as opposed to mindlessly denigrating a legendary comedian!.

Good luck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
