Question: Has Family Guy ever offended you!?
I was offended by the episode where Stewie has the bully tied up in the basement and his mom catches them and Stewie says "We're playing house!." and when Lois inquires as to why the boy is tied up Stewie says "Roman Polanski's house!." I know some people didn't get that joke, but I took it as a reference to Roman's wife Sharon Tate who was murdered!. She was two weeks from giving birth, and they tied her up and stabbed her and wrote on the walls in her blood, I know this happened in 1969, but it still does not seem appropriate to joke about!. But that said, I wondered if it could be referencing Roman Polanski's kinky sex life!. (Thoughts!?) So, this is not the only time the show has offended me, just the worst example!. So has the show ever offended you!? It can be very clever but sometimes goes to far!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I suppose "Boy George's house" would have been a more contemporary answer but I agree with you that if it was the Sharon Tate murder they were referring to it could very well be beyond good taste!. I personally knew about that but I felt like they were making fun of his kinky sex life!. A lot of people don't know but the real target that night was Doris Day's son!. He had lived in the house before Polanski and Sharon Tate!. Manson had a gripe against the guy over a recording contract or something!.

I thought the guys dancing and singing about aids was not funny and in poor taste as well as was the "prom night dumpster babies" song and dance number!.

Personally I love the show!. I'm watching it as I type this!. I get a big kick out of most of the jokes!.

I didn't get that reference personally when I was watching the show but reading what you wrote I would say the reference is more to do with Polanksi's ''ahem'' personal life lol!.
As for it offending me, I just don't take things like that too seriously!. I think that there is enough PC crap in world right now and sometimes its good to see something that is ignoring that!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think the only time I was ever offended seriously was the episode where peter eats so much McDonald's that he has a stroke!. How they portrayed stroke victims and their limitations was just vulgar, and not funny or necessary at all!.
Hopefully the Cleveland show fails miserable, and fox rethinks this McFarlane guy!. The first three family guy seasons were awesome, all the other seasons have failed to live up to my expectations!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I find Family Guy incredibly chauvinistic!. When McFarlane isn't bombarding us with reference jokes, he is bashing women!. He bashes everyone, but he really likes bashing women!.
I mean its bad enough Meg is the one who always gets **** on and ignored, and Stewie is always trying to kill Lois who provides for him and holds the family together!.

That is not even close to the most offensive thing i have seen on family guy!. Ironically some of the worst stuff comes out the mouth of Brian or Stewie!. It is a "the dog did it" approach!. My Dad always said that when he broke wind!.

I am a catholic and I enjoy watching Family Guy, but when they start on jesus and religion, it pisses me off, they can make all the jokes they want, I just wish that they would leave religion out of itWww@Enter-QA@Com

Yeah I saw that very episode just last week!. It's typical of Family Guy's subtle yet very close-to-the-bone humor!. I thought it was hilarious, so no, I wasn't offended!.
It was actually referring to the fact that Roman Polanski was convicted of unlawful sex with a 13 year old girl!. Any jibes at convicted pedophiles are fine in my book, and it's not as if the show went out at a time when kids are likely to be watching, as if kids would understand it anyway!.
