Mad About You's series finale is set approximately 22 years in the future!. Mabel Buchman, grown-up daughter of Paul and Jamie, follows in her dad's footsteps by producing a documentary film about her family!. At the screening of her first film, we realize her parents have split up!. Through voice overs and flashbacks, we find that they originally had a secret wedding performed by minister Lenny, then an official ceremony later!. Because they thought they were already married, they never bothered to file the papers from the official ceremony!. They discover that Lenny was not an ordained minister so they really were never married!. They decide to get married that day (it was their anniversary and Jamie wanted to keep the same date) but at the ceremony, Jamie decides she does not want to get married!. She thinks everything is good for them they way it is and doesn't want to change it!.
Through another flashback, we find that Paul ends up leaving Jamie, because she was unkind and they just didn't get along any more!.
At the end of the episode, Paul ends up kissing Jamie, they go out for pie!. Mabel says "And he got her pie, and he took her home, and he never left!."Www@Enter-QA@Com
