Do we need a new X Factor voting system?!
Question: Do we need a new X Factor voting system!?
To be honest, I wasn't a Laura fan but was shocked to see her get eliminated last night!. I was an avid Austin fan and couldn't believe it when he left last week!.
It seems to me that the X Factor is becoming a farce!. A complete joke of a show, due to the strange voting habits of the British public!.
In a fair competition, Daniel, Rachel and Eoghan would have gone already and we'd still have the great talents left in!.
Do you think it's time the X Factor adopted a new voting and fairer voting system which wasn't based on popularity but on actual talent!?
Perhaps like in SCD where the judges give each act a mark out of 40 (at the most 10 points allocated by each judge) and that accumulates to a quarter or even a half of the public vote!.
So whoever performs the best in the live show gets an advantage in the public vote!?

My thoughts exactly Simon - the whole thing has become a joke and a farce!. The public vote for the underdog so while Simon and Louis slate Daniel every week then he gets voted for!. We saw it happen last year with Same Difference!. It is now time for a big change in the voting system!. I was especially upset last night when two really good singers were in the sing off - so much so that I am not sure I want to watch it any more!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The problem is that the whole idea behind this format of show is to gain revenue from the public's votes!.
The Judges votes to 'save' a contestant were only brought in to stop another Michelle McManus episode - if anything an insult to all the people who were paying to vote in the first place!.

look at all the winners of pop idol/x factor alot of these have not been worthy winners like that old dude and fat chick it seems we vote for the ones we feel sorry for!. laura is one hell of a singer ruth can blast out a song and is as hot as hell!. yet rachel and daniel have nothing to offer but i think they just get the sympathy vote each weekWww@Enter-QA@Com
I have been saying for the last few weeks the voting seems fixed!. It's not just that my fave Austin has gone but why are there always two good singers in the sing off when poor singers like Daniel and Oeughan (not sure if I spelt that right) get through!. I've been pondering this (because it's Sunday and Come Dine With Me isn't on yet) and I reckon that the final will be between Alexandra, JLS and Diana and everything up to that point is a load of old phoney bollocks!.

I agree with you - last night was a total farce - what the hell is wrong with the voters of Britain! They obviously voted for Rachel and Daniel out of sympathy and Eoghan because hes cute!. But to vote Laura out was plain ludicrous!. When will people realise its a TALENT show not a judge of who they feel emotions for!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
You know what I think is happening!? People like Rachel are getting votes!. Because of how bad they were on the night, people feel sorry for them and pick up the phone and vote!. "Aww bless Rachel was crying!. I'll vote for her and hope she stays in!." And leave people with talent for other people to vote!. I didn't like Laura either but thought she'd go straight through and Rachel would be in the bottom two!. Glad Ruth fighted her way through again though Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think we should do away with the tactical voting from the judges and leave it to the public vote!. If it had have been down to the public vote last week then Austin would still be in the competition!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
I totally agree!. The public votes count for nothing against vindictive judges, so a fairer system does need to be adopted, where the judges can't just save the weakest act, so their own act has the best chance!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I completely agree!. I have so far been horrified at the results of this show so far!. I wasn't a huge Laura fan either (I want Diana to win), but I still thought she had an amazing voice and would definitely be there in the final, along with Diana and Alexandra!.
I think the public do have too much power!. People are clearly not voting on talent, but are basing their decision on other factors, such as sympathy (Daniel), character-reformation (Rachel), and cuteness (Eoghan)!.
Daniel has sung awfully since his first performance and - in my opinion - should not even have made it to the live shows!. He belongs in a pub or on a cruise ship!. And really, if he won, would anyone actually buy his records!? I doubt it!. He would become another Steve Brookstein (remember him!? Thought not!. He won the first X-Factor) and would fade into oblivion after a one-hit wonder!.
People should not vote based on anything other than talent!. It's a talent competition! And I couldn't believe it the other week when Louis (the soft puff) broke into tears after Daniel's performance in the sing-off and put him through after all those weeks of putting him down! He had his chance there and then to get rid of him but just because Daniel shed a few tears during his performance dedicated to his late wife, he decided he deserved another chance! Utter disgrace!.
I also believe there's a bit of tactical voting going on with the judges, mostly on Louis's part!. He's sneaky and I wouldn't be surprised if he was eliminating all the decent talent to give his group the best shot!. The show has become just as much about the rowing between the judges as it is about the singing now, and that's wrong!.
But ultimately, I think the judges should make decisions about who they think should be in the final two, and then the public vote counts towards that!. The judges have got much more of an idea about talent than the British public have (quite clearly) and I definitely agree that a new voting system is needed!.
