Rickman would be an awesome choice for the Doctor yes - fantastic actor, mercurial, with the long-proven ability to do manic and/or dark at the drop of a hat!. I know Russell T Davies said there'd never be an older Doctor again, because he has to engage with the kids, but I reckon Rickman might be a notable exception to this rule, cos he's well-known to kids already as Severus Snape!. Can't really imagine for a moment that he'd take it on, but hell, I thought the same about Christopher Ecclestone, and look what a fantastic Doctor he turned out to be!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
