Question: Faulty Towers episode!?
i cant remember much but basil has someone important coming to inspect i think and there was something wrong with te cooking and he kept sending away for a cooked bird and a cake!?

That was the episode when they wanted to "upgrade" the tone of their premises with a gourmet night - so they invited a bunch on nobs from the town to come for their first gala night of fine cusine!.
They hire a Greek chef, who gets really drunk, makes a pass at Manuel and finally passes out cold!.
In a panic, Basil decides to call the local French restaurant and picks up the entrees only to have one bad episode after another and returning three times to get the right food!.
While all this chaos is going on, Manuel and Polly take turns trying to "entertain" the guests with their musical talents!. The guests look aghast!

The punch line at the end is that they receive a large trifle cake and not knowing it - with great flair tell their invited guests for their first big gourmet feast is ready!
Basil lifts the lid of the tray cover to reveal!.!.!.!.!.!.!. a large cake instead! He panics and digs into the middle of it - searching for duck l'orange!.
Another one of Basil's great ideas goes to hell!

It was episode 9!. Waldorf Salad, if im thinking right, there was a table of americans whos kept asking for a Waldorf Salad, the chef didn't know what it was and brought out several dishes to their table, a classic episode
