I saw that episode last weekend!. The "big giant head" contacts them and tells them their mission is over!. None of the group is happy to leave Earth!. They've learned to like humans and in a very melancholy and reflective moods as they prepare to leave!. Dick tells Dr!. Albright that he's an alien and convinces her that it's true!. They spend time together at a planetarium and out looking at the stars and Dick tells Mary that he loves her and wants her to come back with him to the home planet!. She finally says yes she will go with them!. The family throws a costume party with a space theme on their last night of Earth!. In the last scene the family and Mary are sitting in the Valiant waiting for the space ship to take them home!. Each one talks about what they're going to miss the most about Earth!. After all they said, and at the last minute, Mary realizes that she'll miss the Earth too much and can't leave!. Dick and Mary declare their love for each other and Dick tells Mary he can erase her memory of him from her brain!. She says yes and he he does it!. She faints, he lays her down, and returns to the front seat of the car!. With a blinding light they disappear!.
