Why do soap operas look like soap operas?!
Question: Why do soap operas look like soap operas!?
I just finished watching an episode of friends which features a few seconds of Joey filmed with a soap opera like effect!. It was like a switch was flipped and the exact scene looked like a soap!. What is it that gives soap operas that look!? Why when I flip on a soap opera is it so obvious!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
Answers:
Soap operas are filmed with a different kind of camera!. That's why they look that way!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Most soap operas use high tech cameras, which give them that look!. However, I would have to say that the lighting used in each set is what gives soap operas "that look!." You can turn on any soap opera, and most have a specific lighting not used elsewhere in TV!.

whoa, like ten minutes ago I was wondering the same thing!! haha, i don't really know why, but I always figured that *i'm probably wrong*, but maybe soap operas don't have as good of equipment because they are maybe on a smaller budget, so the cameras make it look different!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I agree with Nancy F, its the way its filmed, and what type of film they use!Www@Enter-QA@Com
They use real movie film instead of the video tapes that TV shows use!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
