Why do we see so many Brits on US TV?!

Question: Why do we see so many Brits on US TV!?
I am not complaining!. I like what I've seen so far!. But I'm just wondering about the trend!.

To my knowledge, the following are all from England or Australia!.

Lena Headey (Sarah Connor Chronicles) -- Fox
Johnny Lee Miller (Eli Stone) -- ABC
Anthony Lapaglia (Without a Trace) -- CBS
Simon Baker (The Mentalist) -- CBS
Hugh Laurie (House M!.D!.) -- Fox
Rufus Sewell (Eleventh Hour) -- CBS
Damien Lewis (Life) -- NBC

I think they're all great, but I'm just wondering if American actors have priced themselves out of the market!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I read an article about this here in Britain recently!.

What they said was that if you go to acting school in Britain, they don't train you how to look right, act like a 'star' etc and become a Hollywood action hero or heart throb: America is far away and Hollywood is unlikely to cast them as action heroes anyway!. British films are more likely to be comedies or indie type films than big budget blockbusters!.

The training is apparently fairly different, and more focused on stage and TV - therefore it produces more 'serious' actors and comics!.

So when a high quality US television programme wants to cast someone in an interesting/serious/funny/quirky role, there are a lot of talented Brits to choose from!. They just haven't made it in big Hollywood blockbusters!.

P!.S!. you missed out Lost, The Wire, The Riches!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I suppose if you think how many there are compared to American actors the ration probably isn't as large as you think, although I understand what you mean!. I think part of it is that America is a big market for actors so a lot of the best British and Australian actors go there to work and get the parts over newer American actors!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

because us "brits" are hot! a lot of people absolutely luv our accents!. they like the way that we refer to your "flashlights" as torches, your ocean ans "the pond", and your "apartments" as flats! People love to see other people from a different culture, too!. Have you ever celebrated boxing day or pankake day!? i do every year!. pankake day must be my favorite holiday! also, a lot of the ideas for your shows originate in out country, like the office!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Considering the number of television shows on the air and the amount of actors in each one, I don't think that is that many!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

part of the reason is that USA Tv Pays alot more than tv in the uk or most other countries!. Acting is a JOB- and the actors are just going where it pays the most and where they get a good Part!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

no because there are thousands of american actors!.!.!.

There are waaaay more american actors in england than there are english actors in americaWww@Enter-QA@Com
