The Starter Wife is the wife a successful man started with, before he was successful!. She is often referred to as "the wife of Insert Important Hubby's Name", rather than by her own name!.
She makes sure his life runs smoothly, who he should know, where he should eat, what he should wear, what club he should join, who should decorate the house, what school the kids must attend, etc to keep his social status!. Because taking care of her husband is so much work, she doesn't usually have a real career, even though she's probably educated and trained for one!. Then he goes through a mid-life crisis and decides he needs a younger trophy wife!. And usually he pays big for it!.
Gigi wrote the book after seeing the phenomenon of Starter Wives around town, but she is not a Starter Wife (or a Trophy Wife) herself!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
