Yes , they get caught up!. You know it's called a soap opera for a reason!.Just like soap , it's nice and dry in the beginning and then it becomes wet,foamy and sticky!.!.!. and people jst get stuck till it all dissolves into nothing!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
That's the point of soap operas - if you watch an episode or two, you feel to compelled to see the end of the storyline!.
Then you tend to get hooked, because the story lines always overlap!.
If you've nothing better to do at the time of their broadcast, then there's no harm in getting interested - always remembering that the stories are pure fiction!.

Nither are movies or other shows but people watch them!. You probably don't like them because they tend to be a bit dry, at least that is what I think of them!. You know, not a lot of music in back ground, there is never usually more than 3 people in on scene, mostly just dialogue going on!. But some people like the style of soap opera's!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Well to really get into a soap, you would of have to of watched it for years!. My nanny, lost her sight about 7 years ago -and she doesnt listen/watch the television anymore, but she still remembers most of the people from coronation street when i go rounf there and watch it!. Its mostly a part of someones lives, i know it seems kind of sad, but thats the aim, for people to get really stuck into it, or they wouldnt make them anymore!. its nice to be looking forward and trying to suss out whats going to happen!. But i think buying magazines about soaps, is a tad to far :) Www@Enter-QA@Com
Because they're unrealistic, we casually watch a story and get interested in it and before you know it we've just GOT to tune in and how it ends and as that's happened another storyline is unfolding with another character and we're hooked! Www@Enter-QA@Com
No there not real! I like then bcoz I can relate to alotta the things that go on! On GH, when Carly was prego with Michael, I was prego with my first son! WHen her and Sonny broke up there where things going with my boyfriend at the time! I've been hooked ever since!!!

most of the things on t!.v!. aren't real and people still watch! for me my soap is a way to just take a break from real life for an hour!. plus, it makes me realize that my life really isn't that bad!Www@Enter-QA@Com
