I don't know!. It seems that Sam wants to genuinely help people with his ability but it seems Dean is scared to death of what will happen if he continues given what the angel said to him, etc!. In retrospect, he is sending demons back to hell and he is saving alot more innocent people that are possessed!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I understand why Sam wants to use his powers for the good of others, and it is true that he saves many people who were possessed!. But I think the reason why Dean and the angel has to stop Sam is because of the Yellow-eye end-game!. No one knows what the demon wants in the end, so if Sam continues to use his powers, he might be helping the Yellow-eye demon to achieve his goals!. I think that is their main concern, without knowing the consequences of his powers, he might end up hurting more people!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
sam has demon blood in him and what the YED wanted him to do is to lead the demon army and if you remember there dad told dean, that he might have to kill sam and in the last episode we learned that the YED had a end plan and no one actually knows what this end plan is!.!.!.!. sam only has these powers because of the demon blood so i think dean is right even though sam is using it for good and i believe he only wants to do good i think that maybe the more he gives in to the evil in him by using the powers the more it will turn him evil!. i already think sam seems to be a little different than he was in the last season but i cant quite put my finger on what is different about him!.

There has to be a reason why the angel told Dean he has to stop Sam!.!.perhaps it Sam waits too long to kill a baddie, that demon may kill too many innocent people before stopped!. For example, If they would have killed the demon in the last episode earlier, Travis would still be alive!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
