Question: Are Gay characters and Mixed Race couples on soaps more accepted in the U!.S!. or the U!.K!. or other countries!?
I'll admit I haven't thought much about it until I saw a question from someone in the U!.K!. I don't think that many of us in the U!.S!. give a second thought to mixed race couples anymore (I could be wrong)!.
But we are more used to seeing Gay (Lesbian) females, than Gay men!. It appears that the U!.K!. shows more Gay men!. Comments!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

In Eastenders (U!.K soap opera) We have 1 gay couple right now, Somebody called Christian Clarke and his BF who we don't know much of!.

And we also used to have a Lesbian Black and White Couple, even though it didn't last long and the White woman was confused!. Sonia Jackson and A nurse called Naomi

I live in Australia and we don't really think about mixed-race couples on TV shows anymore either!. There are some TV shows that show gay people and challenge the stereotype that gays are weird and dangerous people, which I think is to help the new generation become accustomed to them!. Gays are becoming way more accepted than they ever have been, which I think it great!. However, there are many people in Australia - mainly the older generations - who refuse to be swayed and continue to be narrow-minded about gays and biracial couples!. My step-grandfather is one of them, so I know first-hand how frustrating it can be!. Overall I think gays and mixed-race couples are becoming gradually more accepted by all countries, however there are still many individuals whose views are the contrary!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
the mixed race couples in the US usually get treated horrible!.!.!. the only lesbian I am familiar with on soaps is Bianca Montgomery ,and to me it really never seemed as if she had any kind of love life like she would have if she were straightWww@Enter-QA@Com
