Not many!. One stands out though, it's the scene in the movie "The Abyss" where a rat is submerged into a container of oxygenated perfluorocarbon and is actually seen breathing it!. It's a continuous scene with no cuts or edits and shows the rat being submerged, breathing it and then being pulled out to allow the liquid to drain from its lungs!. Absolutely jaw-dropping!
The director, James Cameron, later confirmed the rat scene was not a special effect and that real liquid breathing medium was used!. It's just a shame that the scene has been deleted from every DVD and video version I've seen since (with the exception of a single UK terrestrial TV showing) because of concerns over animal cruelty!.
Scenes in the remainder of the film of actors breathing the liquid were simulated though!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
