To keep the show interesting and give him different jobs!. I kinda liked him working at the Toy factory!. His boss was pretty funny too, forgot his name!. Just seems more and more the similarities between the two!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Actually, Family Guy had an interesting continuity with that!. Peter's boss Mr!. Weed (from the toy factory) dies after choking on a dinner roll at a dinner party at Peter's house!. The toy factory is destroyed per Mr!. Weed's will!. Peter then becomes a knight at a local Renaissance Faire ("Mr!. Saturday Knight," it has Will Ferrel as the voice of the Black Knight, one of my fav Family Guys EVER!) When Peter quits that, he actually has a few odd jobs (including being Lara Flynn Boyle's body heat and a fisherman) until he gets his current job at the Pawtucket Patriot Brewery!.
It's hilarious, and I think it made him more interesting to have different jobs!. It may also have been to differentiate him from Homer Simpson, who works in a factory-like setting!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
