Well, maybe late 80s!. I don't remember much:
There was this boy who I think had a robot friend in his basement (I hope this robot isn't actually from another show I can't remember)!. He was kind of a super hero because he fought robot monsters in some kind of electronic world that he could go to!. This was secret though- no one at school or home knew this!. And he had the dragon-robot thing that fought on his side against the monsters!.
