Question: How do you get on shows like "So You Think You Can Dance"!?
My cousin is really really really great dancer and she has been dancing jazz for at least 15 years and she's only in college!. She always wins trophies and competitions and she's on the dance team for her college in Houston!. I think she has the potential to win!. What are the pros and cons!? Is it dumb to quit school for dancing!? Even if you are "that" good!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

If you REALLY watch the show, you better keep something in mind!.!.!.you are seeing an EDITED version of events!. What looks easy absolutely is the exact opposite!. Being good enough is NOT good enough for this show!. You'd also better have a thick skin and the endurance of an Olympic athlete!. You don't usually see the injuries, the fatigue, the grueling hours of rehearsal and practice!.!.!.Plus being good at one area of dance is great, yet still not good enough!. Too many dancers have been kicked off because they were good at the one style they loved, but they SUCKED in others because of lack of training!.
To even get into the finals, you can't just be good!.!.!.you have to be EXTRAORDINARY!. Unless your cousin is all that and more, her best bet is to get into classes NOW for everything - ballroom, tap, salsa, pasa doble, EVERYTHING!. She probably needs to take a year to get up to speed on at least a few more styles before even auditioning!.
The amount of work she has ahead of her to qualify for this show is ridiculous, even if she's "THAT good!." Because for every dancer who's 'THAT good," there's always somebody who's even better!. And they may not have even won a single trophy!.
I don't want to throw cold water on your hopes for her, but I've seen every season of this show!. I will never be a dancer myself, but I know what goes into it, and my heart goes out to the kids who get crushed when they realize that they're not ready after all!. Unless she just wants to go for it, you might want to spare your cousin that kind of pain!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

you register and audition when they come to your city
there are usually 100's of thousands who apply!. they choose like 15-20 people only!. You might think someone's good at something, but theres always a 100 more people who are better
