Why is this soap opera called "All My Children"?!

Question: Why is this soap opera called "All My Children"!?
Answers:
Because the creator, Agnes Nixon began to think ofhte characters as her children and we are also all God's Children!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sorry, but I have to show my age here!. When the originally aired, the main character was Phoebe Tyler - a grande dame type who could give you here geneology all the way back to B!.C!. and who ruled the society-aspect of the town!. And of course, she tried to rule her children!. One of the first storylines I remember was when her grandson, Dr!. Chuck Tyler, fell in love with a young woman who had been brought to the emergency room - because she was beat up by her pimp!. Phoebe managed to butt into everyone's business even more than Kendall does now (if That's possible), and I think it was her Agnes Nixon was thinking of when she named the show "All My Children"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

"The title of the show refers to the brotherhood of man!. Nixon believed that it doesn't matter who one was, what one looked like, or where one was from — for every human being was a child of God!. The poem at the start of the All My Children photo album reads:

The Great and the Least,
The Rich and the Poor,
The Weak and the Strong
In Sickness and in Health,
In Joy and Sorrow,
In Tragedy and Triumph,
You are ALL MY CHILDREN ”
