Yes, the preview looks excellent, and I'm looking forward to Christmas immensely!. The title is apparently "The Next Doctor", and features a character who appears to be the 11th Doctor!. All is not what it seems, however!. I've heard that the story is loosely based on the Big Finish audio play "The One Doctor", which features a con-man pretending to be the Doctor!.
Not sure where you got the 3 years thing from, but that's just completely wrong!. After the Christmas special, there will be another three special episodes in 2009, followed by the 2009 Christmas special, all starring David Tennant!. That will be followed by series 5 in spring 2010!.
On whether Tennant is leaving - both he and the BBC are remaining tight lipped about that!. Apparently Tennant has been offered a 1!.3 million pound deal to stay on for series 5, but there has been no confirmation from either the BBC or Tennant himself regarding the deal or whether he has accepted it!.
Personally I think he will be staying on for series 5!. If he was leaving, the BBC would be searching for another actor to play the new Doctor already, and there has been absolutely no suggestion of that!. So the likelihood is that Tennant will be staying on at least until the end of series 5, and possibly beyond, depending on the length of his contract (the 1!.3 million pound deal was rumoured to be for 3 years)!.
As for series 5, I think it's going to be great and will perhaps see things going in a new direction in terms of stories!. Steven Moffat is taking over from Russel!. T Davies as head writer and exec producer!. He wrote episodes such as "Blink", "Girl in the Fireplace", "The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances", and "Silence in the Libraray / Forest of the Dead"!. So I would expect a bit more dark and scary stuff, but with quite a bit of Moffat's humour and romantic side thrown in for good measure!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You are severely mis-informed!. After the christmas special this year, there will NOT be a full series next year!. Instead, there will be 3/4 feature length episodes at different times of the year!. There have been reports that one will be in America with a big name American female star!. There are reports that Donna Noble and the Master will return in some of these special episodes!.
The next full series, which is series 5, will begin in Spring 2010!. As far as I know, David Tennant is signed up for every single one of these episodes!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
