She has revealed that since losing her job on Countdown she has been stressed and she has put on some weight owing to fact that she's actually eaten a full meal for the first time in about 10 years!.

(ANS) Well I'm an unashamed Carol Vorderman fan, and well YES! I definitely do feel for Carol!. She has worked in TV for as long as I can recall and yes! she is a glamorous women but more than just her physical looks she has an incredible brain and a mind for mathematics that puts the average Maths Professor to shame!. Carol is a one off there is nobody else like her on TV in the UK!.
**Our culture & society is keen to reward originality & talent, and Carol Vorderman has buckets of real genuine talent which is frankly a bit wasted on something like "count down" but Carol is also a wee bit of an exhibitionist in terms of loving the attention of being in front of the TV cameras!. Nothing wrong with that in a way, its part of her personality!.
**I can really sympathize with her after having done the same job for many many years in a successful career in TV too suddenly find herself made redundant must have come as a real jolt to her, I can sympathize that she turned to food for comfort!.
**Good luck to Carol and I hope she manages to find a new role some where that uses her talents again!.

Why are you feeling sorry for someone who has had a high paid job for the last 20 years, does not have to worry about a pension because of all the millions in the bank and can get work whenever simply because she is Carol Vorderman!.!?!?

I couldn't understand all the fuss in the first place Shannen - When are these people gonna realise that no one person is bigger than the show itself !! Ok so Countdown isn't exactly prime time tele but she's had a good run and made alot of money on the way along with the other shows she presented and the Loan ads - she's hardly gonna be on the breadline like a lot of people are when they get the boot from a job!. I don't feel sorry for her at all!. She's a smart lady, she could have any number of jobs and earn alot more than she did on Countdown!. This is what she chose, so she'll have to put up with it I'm afraid!.
