Question: My 8 Year Old Watches Total Drama Island Am I A Bad Mom!?
My son is 8- he goes to swim team practice on Thursday nights from 7:30-8:30 and then he gets to watch Total Drama Island at 9pm!. Swim paractice is very intense- he loves swimming and baseball, and will do either any chance he gets- BUT- when he is done, he is hyped up and needs to chill out before going to bed-
Anyway- I grew up in a VERY strict environment!. I was not even able to watch a pg-13 movie when I graduated from high school without my very religious parents seeing it first and without a 45 minute discussion afterwards!. I always had animosity towards my parents-
I am now 35 and I have two kids, 3 and 8!. My son watches Total Drama Island and so do a lot of his friends!. It's a silly and shocking show- but this is the deal- My son and I have a very close realtionship- he still holds my hand a lot, we talk every night about his day, his feelings, I take him out one on one as much as I can!.!. he is confident, has never gotten in trouble at school, etc!. I DO draw a strict line on video games- however- that's where I am the mean mom!.!.!.!.
At his age, what else is there between Blue's Clues and Cartoon Network!? Shows like Darke and Josh are just plain stupid!
OK- I was a TRADITIONAL skin too- (PLEASE google this! And Trojan Records!) but anyways- My vision of having a child was a skater kid who was a good kid and I was close to-- NOT a pretty preppy boy- someone who thinks for themselves! (no, my son has no interest in skateboarding LOL)
SO- what is really wrong with MY 3rd grader watching Total Drama Island!? BTW- he wants to be Duncan for Halloween and I couldn't be happier! Www@Enter-QA@Com

wtf r u talkin about, u sound like an ill *** mom, stop takin urself for granted, theirs certain lines of course when dealing wit 3rd graders, dont let em off too loosely, they'll get used to it and take advantage (hopefully not ur kid) but keep doin wut ur doin, and go wit ur gut instinct!. picture it like this!. say ur sons like water, if you hold it in your hands with a tight grip it'll slip out of your fingers, too loosely same thing happens, never be too strict or too loose with him!. I always had a strict mom too, but b/c of her bein strict i thot to myself that i had to loosen her up by raising her limit of "angryness" you get it!? like i did more things that she disliked than she could handle basically so the little things didnts really matter to her as much as it did before so0o yeh thats what could possibly happen when your too strict on the kiddWww@Enter-QA@Com
first I don't get what a traditional skin is or your reference to trojan records and what that has to do with the question!.
I watch TDI every week with my boys 10 + 11 there is some puke humor and a little flirting but not even enough to care about!.
