He moves out for a few episodes, but then the Formans find out that Hyde's Dad (as expected) really doesn't know how to take care of him, or really care about him!. So they take him back in again!.
The story arc goes through these following episodes
Episode 54: Hyde's Father - The guys use their fake ID's to get into a local bar, and Hyde realizes that the bartender, Bud, is his estranged father!. Hyde's angry and stunned when he learns his dad's been back in town for more than a year!.
Donna makes fun of Kelso and Fez who are engrossed in a girly magazine; then is disgusted to discover that Eric keeps a stack of dirty magazines under his bed!.
Kitty invites Bud over to the house!. Bud accepts Kitty's invitation and tells everyone that he's cleaned up his act and stopped drinking!. But later, Hyde tells Bud that he can't just walk back into his life and expect everything to be okay!. Bud offers no excuses and apologizes for being such a jerk all his life!. When Bud offers the extra room in his house to Hyde, Hyde accepts and moves in with his father!.
60!. Hyde's Christmas Rager
The gang throws a party at Hyde's place, complete with a keg!. Bud seems concerned when he sees the keg but doesn't hassle the kids!. Kitty arrives to check up on Hyde's situation, and though the kids do their best to conceal the party, Kitty doesn't fall for it!.
Jackie suggests a girl's night out!. They arrive at a bar and meet a couple of older guys who, they learn, are firemen!. Donna wants to leave the bar because these guys are too old, but Jackie wants to stay!.
Back at the party, Eric's losing at "Quarters" and is feeling woozy from having to drink lots of shots!. Kelso helps Eric through the kitchen door just in time for Eric to throw up on Red's shoes!. Kitty is furious with Hyde's Dad, Bud, for being so irresponsible and suggests they move Hyde back in with them!. Red agrees to give Bud a call!. When he shows up at the Forman's house, he explains that he's never been a dad before and has been trying to be Hyde's friend!. Red tells him that Hyde doesn't need another friend but someone to ride his ***!. Bud gets the message, goes home and throws everyone out!. Bud claims he'll be making the rules now!.
I can't find the one where he moves back in, but basically his Dad comes to Red and tells him he can't keep taking care of him!. And so Red comes up with a way for Hyde to come back without making Hyde embarassed, another of those great moments that showed how much Red really thought of Stephen as one of his own kids!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
