Is Dr Who just for nerds?!

Question: Is Dr Who just for nerds!?
Answers:
I've been watching Doctor Who since 1963, and have been accused of being a "Nerd" for most of my life as a result!. Back in the 1980s particularly, people really thought you were a bit strange if you admitted to being a life-long Doctor Who fan!.

Since the new series of Doctor Who started in 2005, however, it suddenly seems to have become very cool to be into Doctor Who!. To be perfectly honest, my knowledge of Doctor Who (gained from life-long obsession) is more in demand now than it ever was, and I seem to be personally more popular than I've ever been!. All thanks to the massive popularity of the show in the past few years placing it firmly in the television mainstreamWww@Enter-QA@Com

I'm just a year older than Spacephantom but I grew up in the US!. Most cities had 3 television stations (affiliates for ABC, NBC, and CBS), and sometimes a local station that carried PBS programming!. Doctor Who only showed up on PBS or on other local stations for a long time; those of us who lived in a city without PBS (or whose television didn't have an antenna that would pick up the PBS station, which very often was on UHF instead of normal frequencies) couldn't get the show on a regular basis!.

And so !.!.!.!.!.!. by the time I was in junior high and high school, it really was predominantly the loners and the geeks and the nerds who were fans of Doctor Who!. You know the guys - they built their own tv antennas to pick up the UHF channels, and they were talking about computers before most of us had seen a pocket calculator!.

Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper changed my view of Who when my husband accidentally tripped over "The Unquiet Dead" while doing the channel-flipping bit one day!. I said, "Stop! Go back, that looked neat" - Billie Piper coming out of the Tardis in period dress at the beginning of the show!. And that was it - we were hooked by the time that episode finished!.

By the way, ladies, there is a waiting list for claiming Spacephantom!. I tried locking the man in my cryochamber, but Greyhound 6 (Martha Jones) kept letting him out!. So take a number and get in line!. I'm #213, and the next number available is 1,489!. Be prepared to wait a while!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

btw if you guys wanna know which episode it was well it was the one with the 'nanny' and she helped the alien species to expand in population then at the end they were gonna take here into the ufo spaceship thingy and then the main character says they dont need the nanny anymore cause they've got all the alien baby thingies!.!.!. and the beam thats lifting her turns off and she dies!.!.

it was really interesting!!! =PPWww@Enter-QA@Com
