He's a serial killer!. He's a sociopath because he watched a man kill his mother when he was young!. His adoptive father worked as a police officer and noticed that Dexter had an antisocial personality disorder!. So, his father groomed him to kill criminals who don't get caught by law enforcement!. Dexter works as a blood spatter analyst while he kills criminals who weren't arrested because of faulty search warrants etc!. It's a great show!. You can watch it here
