Question: Ok, i'm watching a show tonight, and I keep seeing the same commercial over and over! Why do they do this!?
I've seen this Ikea commercial 13 times in 1 hour (I've counted) and I want to rip my hair out!!!! Why do the tv stations play the same commercial 1000's of times! I don't care if they have slashed the prices on bed sheets!!!! I wouldn't care if I say it like 2 times but 13!. Speek of the devil, make it 14!!!!!! WHY!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Having worked in radio professionally, I can tell you that these 'sponsors', (companies & their commercials) pay money for air time!. That means that they pay the radio or television station large amounts of money to have their commercials played during specific shows!. The more popular the show, the more money and air time the companies pay!. These sponsors (who pay for the shows you watch for free) buy air time in seconds and minutes!. If they think a show will be popular or if they can only afford paying less for a less popular show, they will buy so many seconds or minutes of air time-the number of commercials you see during any show!. The 'traffic' person at the station is responsible for making sure that the commercials the company pays for are run at the specific time(s) during the show(s) and the specific number of times they run!. If a station pays $100,000 for four 30-second or 60-second commercials to be played during, say, Friends or whatever show, they expect those commercials to run four times during that show!. They've literally bought that air time!. Sometimes the commercials run back to back to back and since I have never worked in traffic (NOT driving conditions but what I've described above) I cannot tell you if that is because the company just wants the commercial to run regardless what time but I am guessing that the company wants just so much time on the air to hammer their message home!.
