At Newman Enterprises, Phyllis arrives to pick up something for Nick and runs into Neil and Karen!. She brings them up to speed on the search for Victor and the fact that Nick has gone to help look for him in Mexico!. She says the last he was seen was on a boat in a storm and it doesn't look good!
At Restless Style, Jack and Sharon are admiring the new issue of the magazine when they notice something they weren't expecting - the inside scoop on Jack Abbott! Phyllis arrives and they confront her about it!. Jack says they had no right to include Sharon in this! Sharon asks if Nick knows about this, and Phyllis confirms that it was his idea!. Jack says he'll stop the presses, but Phyllis reminds him of the huge costs that would be involved in doing so!. She checks the computer and tells him that people are loving it!
On the plane, the pilot tells a frantic Nick that he can't land in Puerto Vallarta tonight - the weather is too bad! The plane lands where it can, and Nick runs into a nearby restaurant offering to pay someone to take him to the village where his mother is waiting!
In the little Mexican bar, a dejected Nikki takes the shot of alcohol offered to her by the bartender and after a slight hesitation, she downs it! Soon she is on the phone with Katherine!. Nikki laughs as she asks her how to say vodka in Spanish!. When Katherine demands to know if she is drinking, Nikki confirms it!. "Yes Katherine, I'm drinking!. Victor is dead!" Katherine rubs her forehead!. "Oh dear God!." Nikki explains about the storm and the boat, and how it came back in pieces with no people found!. Nikki starts rambling about Paul and how they used to be a 'thing'!. Katherine tells her it's a delightful story, but insists that she stop drinking! "You've had enough liquor!" Nikki keeps reminiscing about the old days and meeting Victor!. Katherine plays along, then asks where Paul is!. Nikki says she's alone!. Katherine tells her alcohol will not bring Victor back, but Nikki says she doesn't care - she just wants to talk about the man she loves!. Katherine begs her not to hang up!.
In the hospital, Heather tells her boss to fax something over, but Adam grabs the phone and says, "She'll look at it tomorrow!." Just then, Paul walks in anxious to know what is going on with his daughter!. She tries to reassure him that it's just exhaustion, but Adam fills him in on the low blood cell count!. Heather asks for some water and Adam goes to get it!. Heather smiles at Paul!. "You didn't have to fly back from Mexico for me, but I'm glad you did!." Suddenly Paul takes a call from Katherine telling him that she has Nikki on the other line - she's learned that Victor might be dead! Paul assures her that Nick is on his way down there and will be there soon!
In the car enroute to the Mexican village where Nikki is, Nick calls Phyllis!. She starts to tell him that Jack and Sharon saw the article, but he cuts her off to tell her that something happened to Victor!. He explains, asking her to tell the appropriate people, and says he'll call again when he gets there!.
Phyllis calls Neil and says she doesn't have great news!. On the other end, Neil listens and hangs up!. He sits down heavily as Karen walks in!. She asks what is wrong, and he explains that Victor might be dead!. He says there are no details, they have to just wait and pray!. She says she knows they were close, and Neil starts to recount his relationship with his 'idol'!. Neil says he was more than good to him - he was like a father!. "If he really is gone, that would be a tragic loss because he's been a great friend!. Someone I could always go to!." Karen embraces Neil!.
At Jabot, Katherine is still on the phone with Nikki as she speaks about one of her marriages to Victor!. Katherine asks her for details as she tries to keep her on the line!. On her other phone, Katherine gets through to Nick!. She says she is sorry about his father!. As Nikki yammers on the other line, Katherine sighs and tells Nick that his mother is drinking!. Oblivious, Nikki continues, "He put my make-up on to marry me in the hospital!.!.!." Katherine begs Nick to hurry up and get there! Nick yells at the driver to get him there faster! Katherine turns back to her conversation with Nikki, begging her to stop drinking, but Nikki has moved on to feeling guilty about Sabrina dying!. Katherine says she won't listen to such garbage! She tells her to go back to her hotel and sleep and when she awakens Nick will be there!. "It's possible that Victor is still out there!" Nikki slurs that her life isn't worth living without him, then hangs up! Katherine calls back and leaves a message for Nikki to call back and let her know she's alright! Nikki ignores the phone and walks out into the rain, sobbing!.

Now, we all know that "The Great Mustache" is not dead!. I believe when Y&R shoot in Paris, he is going to return!. Maybe sooner!. It's just one of those storylines that makes the soaps so much more interesting!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
