After losing her virginity to Ricky Underwood at band camp, Amy Juergens discovers that she's pregnant!. As Amy contends with her family life, and struggles to come to terms with her pregnancy, she seeks solace from her friends,Madison and Lauren!. Meanwhile, Grace Bowman, promises abstinence to her parents!.

Ricky begins to want to have responsibility for the baby though Amy pushes him away!.Elsewhere, Adrian and Grace try to become friends!.

Amy's grandmother visits and offers to help Amy!. Adrian gets upset that Ricky wants to take care of his and Amy's baby, so she tells him she can't see him anymore!.
