Why don't they make star trek anymore?!

Question: Why don't they make star trek anymore!?
I am by no means a Trekkie, but just recently I've found myself watching DS9 and Next generation and have to admit, there is something rather relaxing about it!. So why did they stop making series after Enterprise!? surely there is a massive and devoted audience
to ensure any series with the Star Trek banner would be a garanteed success!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

Well, I've loved the franchise since the day I was born pretty much and will continue till the end!. With that said in 2002 Paramount was restructoring and they went under CBS studios and at that time the ratings for Enterprise hit rock bottom!. They decided to kill Enterprise in 2005 after the fourth season!. It's been down hill ever since!. What most people have already stated they probably did ran out of ideas!. I noticed in Voyager's 5 season that the stories went down hill and really started to suck!. They also ended the series very bad as well!. Enterprise sucked from the get go, I never liked it and as i'm typing this i'm watching it and it really sucks!. With Roddenberry dying I believe it did play a role in the direction that the franchise went because Rick Berman took it over and acted on his behalf!. The next movie out next year has J!.J Abrams in full charge of the movie since Berman decided to quit!. I really don't think J!.J know what the hell he's doing for a Star Trek movie!. I personally don't like the idea of going back to the orginal, without the orginal cast!. I am sad that no series is on; however, I really don't like this new direction the franchise is going in and I would be worried of another series!. The quality would be terrible as what i'm seeing with this movie!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

They have run dry on ideas, and the execute it wrong when they do think of something!. Enterprise was a good idea, but done poorly!. They also really screwed up with the last movie, Nemisis!. They are releasing a new trek movie, opening stories from the original characters again, and i think it will make or break the future of trek!.

also ST has suffered after the passing of Gene Rodenberry, he was a visionaryWww@Enter-QA@Com

Having been a die-hard TrekKER for many years, I don't agree that it's because Mr!. Roddenberry died, as Enterprise came along after!. However, there comes a time when things come to a natural end!. Not only are the members of the original cast aging and (sadly) passing away, so are those who counted themselves fen in the beginning!. I mean, this phenomenon has been going since 1966! Other ideas have come (and gone) since Captain Kirk and company came onscreen!. Star Trek is the measuring stick for a lot of science fiction (and the catalyst for some science fact)!. So, in many respects, whether it's something new on the screen, or re-runs from 40 years ago, Star Trek will always be with us, and that banner has never stopped flying :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because they ran out of ideas!. also, Gene Roddenberry, inventor of Star Trek, died!. The writers have to follow a script when writing, there are certain items that need to be there!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

There is a new Star Trek movie coming out in May of 2009!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
