hah!. almost ALL are!. I studied this in school, and nearly all are scripted to some extent!. and do you know how many times they say "cut" to do a scene again!? a lot!Www@Enter-QA@Com
Depends on what you mean by "fake!." Even under the most contrived conditions created by producers, participant reactions are often genuine!.
Most reality shows are guided along by premises created prior to the beginning of a series, manipulated during production, and then recut to their advantage in post production!. If contestant X says "I hate Jerry," and contestant Y says "yes, I agree with you," the response may have been to somethnig else four days later!. I like to use the "shirt check," where you keep careful track of what people are wearing in a scene!. If their hair, makeup, or clothing changes, there y'go!.
Please also take note of people listed in the credits as writers, story producers, story editors (and sometimes just as producers and associate producers)!. Those are the people who help shape the story --- and as most are not covered by the Writers Guild's Minimum Basic Agreement in America, their titles are not standardized!.
I'd encourage you to enjoy the shows at face value despite the haevy manipulation in most reality storytelling!. Even some nature documetaries mix and match their footage!.!.!. it's all part of the art of storytelling!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
