Question: What was this show, and what was the name of the episode!? Science Fiction!?
I saw this on cable in the summer of 1988!. I have viewed every episode of Monsters and Tales of the Darkside, so this was not part of those shows!. It may have been the new Twilight Zone series produced by Showtime!. Basic plot was as follows:
In a futuristic society, when children reach a certain age, they are required to go through a series of tests!. They are given drugs to make sure they answer all questions truthfully!. The parents of this young boy send him off to be tested!. At the end of the program, it is revealed that because he scored over a certain level!.!.!.in other words, because he was TOO intelligent!.!.!.he was killed!. The parents receive a phone call giving them this sad news!. As they break down sobbing, a cold, feminine computer voice asks them if they want to dispose of their son's body themselves, or if they want the state to cremate him!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

You're right!.!.!.it WAS the new Twilight Zone! The episode was called Examination Day (Season 1, Episode 14)!. I LOVED that series when it aired! My fav episodes were Shatterday with Bruce Willis and The Shadow Man!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
