I think he's doing it for the baby's sake!. He knows what's like to grow up without a parent around and doesn't want his child to have to have the same kind of childhood he had!.
I think that is a mistake though because as Kay said, he can still be in the baby's life without marrying Chloe!.
Being there 24/7 normally would be ideal, but not in Cane & Chloe's case since they both don't truly love each other!.
A child does not need to be around a house where there is any kind of conflict between their parents!

I can't stand the thought of Cane marrying Chloe; I just wish he'd listen to his grandmother when she said he can still be a good father to the baby !.!. he doesn't *HAVE* to marry Chloe!

I know, I read a spoiler about that!. It makes me sick!. Have you seen the ad that is in black and white and Chloe says something to the effects of "So its not Canes baby, what Cane doesn't know wont hurt me" I hate this storyline so much!.
