That depends on what you mean by close!. By the end of season one, there is a strong bond and a friendship!. Scully tells Mulder, "I wouldn't put myself on the line for anyone but you!."
Some jealousy issues start to show up in seasons three and four, and when Scully gets cancer in season four their relationship becomes very tender and sweet for a while, and there is a lot of hugging!. They also start risking their lives and careers for each other more often!.
It's really during the movie, which takes place between seasons five and six, and during season six that we start to see some hints of mutual romantic feelings that don't just stem from jealousy or close friendship!. You definitely see it in the first movie (Fight the Future), which was between seasons 5 and 6, so maybe there was something a little before that!. also towards the end of season 8 Scully goes on maternity leave (with Mulder's and her child if I'm not mistaken!.!.!.)

I think there was this movie, they were about to kiss and a damn bee stung scully!. Stupid bee!. Anyways scully got abducted and moulder come to her rescue!. Its frustating to watch those two like clark kent and lana lang(dk if i got that spelling right)!. i didnt think they got together for long , read a preview on the latest film that scully is some kind of a doctor now and while moulder is still alien hunting!. So they couldn't have been hitched in previous movies or in tv series!. Geez, its a long running series and engagement!. I really think they should get married already or have babies by now!. baby fox and baby dana (hopefully not the alien kind), coz seen something about dana being pregnant w/ an alien!. Their chemistry was visable during the whole series!. When they really hint at chemistry is durning danguerous situationas!. And when Scully was pregnant Mulder was very protective which was intresting!. But during the new movie they go deeper in their relationship!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
